Insert elements (6) i.e. aluminum grit, with high thermal conductivity are arranged in the support material. The insert elements are arranged in the cover layer and/or a region of the base layer between the heating element and the cover layer. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Floor heating device for a rail vehicle (claimed). #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The insert elements are arranged in the support material, thus reducing weight of the device without adversely affecting homogeneous heat distribution on a floor area, while enhancing heat transmission by the heating element, preventing heat emission downward to a chassis to a large extent and obviating voltages at junctions between the base and cover layers.
