<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of re-informing a user of an error generated before shifting into an energy saving mode, in recovery from the energy saving mode and reducing the troublesomeness of the user caused by the re-informing of the error. <P>SOLUTION: A compound machine 1 includes an error detection unit 10a detecting the error, an operation panel 15 including a display device 15a displaying the error, a buzzer 15b emitting a warning sound and a warning lamp 15c and selectively informing the user of the error by using them, and a SRAM 13 backed up by a battery and storing error information during a super sleep mode. The operation panel 15 does not allow the buzzer 15b to emit the warning sound in the recovery, when the status of the fact that the warning sound is emitted before shifting into the super sleep mode is set in the error information. Similarly, the operation panel 15 does not allow the warning lamp 15c to light in the recovery, when the status of the fact that the warning lamp 15c is lighted before shifting into the super sleep mode is set. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
