MAGNETOSTRICTIVE TORQUE DETECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetostrictive torque detector which is miniaturized and simplified in structure.

SOLUTION: A magnetostrictive torque detector comprises a coil wound around an object body whose outer shape is columnar in a non-contact manner and which is subjected to torque detection and a coil which has a cylindrical part with the coil disposed inside and a first ring part and a second ring part sandwiching the coil from the axis direction of the object body and in which a magnetic flux generated by energization of the coil passed through the object body. The first ring part has a first tooth which projects to the second ring part side and faces the object body and the second ring part has a second tooth which projects to the first ring part and faces the object body. The first and second teeth are disposed at positions deviated in the direction crossing the axis line of the object body.
