PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mass spectrometer that allows ions to surely penetrate a back stage linear multipolar electrodes Q1, even if extension lines P0 and P1 of central axes of a front state linear multipolar electrodes Q0 and the back stage linear multipolar electrodes Q1 are deviated each other.
SOLUTION: The mass spectrometer includes the front stage linear multipolar electrodes Q0 and the back stage linear multipolar electrodes Q1 into which ions emitted from the front stage linear multipolar electrodes Q0 enter. The mass spectrometer further includes a control unit for controlling so as to apply DC offset voltages Vofs1, Vofs2, Vofs3, and Vofs4 to a plurality of rod electrodes that constitute the front stage linear multipolar electrodes Q0 in order to deflect each of axial deviation amounts ΔX and ΔY of extension lines of central axes P0 and P1 of the front stage linear multipolar electrodes Q0 and the back stage linear multipolar electrodes Q1 by the time the ions enter into the back stage linear multipolar electrodes Q1. The control unit varies the DC offset voltages Vofs1, Vofs2, Vofs3, and Vofs4 in response to a mass number of ions to be entered into the back stage linear multipolar electrodes Q1.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
