<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of performing accurate toner concentration control by discriminating the inclination of a developing unit, that is, the inclination of an apparatus body, with an inexpensive configuration. <P>SOLUTION: On a correction table 88 for a control voltage for a toner concentration sensor 62, when the inclination of a developing unit 14, which is filled with a developer 83 whose toner concentration is 6% and in which the control voltage is initially set to 5.75 V so that the toner concentration sensor 62 outputs a detection signal of 2.5 V when the developing unit 14 is in a horizontal state, is gradually increased to a maximum of 8.0 degrees from the horizontal state by every 0.5 degrees in a plus-angle direction to measure the output of the toner concentration sensor 62, the output is gradually decreased to 1.70 V from 2.50 V in the horizontal state in increments of 0.05 V. A control voltage value for correction for maintaining the output at 2.50 V is tested in the field, to obtain a numerical value described in the lower half of a section 92 for the control voltage value (V). In the inclination in a minus-angle direction, a numerical value in the upper half of the section 92 for the control voltage value (V) is obtained. The drive voltage of the toner concentration sensor 62 is corrected by using the numerical value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
