The present invention provides a method and system for querying gateway, applied in realizing locally accessed network. The network comprises: a selection and management unit. The method comprises: the selection and management unit sending a gateway query request to a domain name server (DNS), the gateway query request comprises APN information and/or location information, or the combination of at least one of the APN information and the location information and instruction information for selecting core network gateway; the selection and management unit receives a gateway query response returned from the DNS, the response carries one or more gateway addresses obtained through the query. The technical scheme provided in the present invention can effectively prevent modifications to the current mobility management unit caused by introducing local access service.
