The system (100) has a differential amplifier (114) connected to terminals of one of a set of electrochemical blocks (102) via inputs of the amplifier to provide voltage representative of potential difference between the terminals, where the voltage is sent to a control unit (106). The control unit converts the voltage into a digital value that is transmitted to a control circuit (104). A buffer unit (116) is provided between the amplifier and the control unit and controlled by the circuit. The buffer unit saves the voltage representative of the potential difference in a simultaneous manner. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling an electrochemical system.
