PURPOSE: A digital image processing apparatus and a control method thereof are provided to indicate a set-up target item and set-up situation of a set-up value in a visible spot of a set-up menu. CONSTITUTION: A display screen indicated on a display unit comprises a selection area(72) and a control area(71). One or more set items are indicated on the selection area. A current set-up value which is established in regard to the set-up items is indicated on the control area with configurable candidate set-up values. The one or more set-up items are arranged on a selection bar according to set-up priority. The one or more set-up items are designated as candidate items which can be indicated on the selection area. Selected display items among the candidate items are indicated on the selection area.
