<p>The present invention relates to a method (1) for determining the position of a moving rotor in a switched reluctance motor. This method comprises the steps of applying (2) a voltage to a phase winding of the reluctance motor, sampling (3) a signal representative of the current magnitude in this phase winding, detecting (4) a feature of the second temporal derivative of the signal, and determining (5) the position of the moving rotor taking into account the occurrence of this feature.
