A method for acquiring system information includes: receiving a system message block sent by a network; and acquiring updated system information if a systemInformationValueTag carried in the received system message block indicates that the system information has changed. An apparatus and a system for acquiring system information are also disclosed. Because the femtocell does not need to broadcast all system information periodically, the technical solution under the present invention reduces the channel overhead of the system, relieves interference between systems, and reduces power consumption of the evolved Node B (eNB). When the femtocell does not broadcast all system information periodically, the User Equipment (UE) camps on the femtocell and sets up a connection with the femtocell through preset system information, a handover process, and setup of a Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection. |
