A composition for the sterilization of soil comprises an aqueous solution of a salt of an N-alkyl dithio carbamic acid of formula <FORM:0967319/A5-A6/1> wherein R is a methyl methyl radical containing 1 or 2 carbon atoms and M is an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or the ammonium radical stabilized with an effective amount of an alkali metal salt, an alkaline earth metal salt or the ammonium salt of trithio carbonic acid. Lithium calcium, barium and sodium salts of trithio carbonic acid are mentioned. |
