METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETECTING OBJECTS IN MOTION THROUGH BACKGROUND IMAGE ANALYSIS BY OBJECTS

PURPOSE: A method for detecting a mobile object is provided to solve a malfunction phenomenon generated in an object detecting technique of pixel unit by analyzing an image with the object as a unit and modeling a background based on object unit information. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus extracts objects from input images(S11). The apparatus determines whether there are objects consisting of background models which are similar to the extract objects or not(S12). The apparatus renews an original object among the background models to the extracted object when the objects which are similar to the extract objects exist(S14). The apparatus adds the extracted object to the background models when the objects which are similar to the extract objects are nonexistent(S13). The apparatus eliminates an object which is not renewed for predetermined time from the background models(S15).
