PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to supply ink from a main tank to a reservoir tank even during print operation, and to circulate ink between the reservoir tank and a print head regardless of the capacity of the reservoir tank. SOLUTION: When an atmosphere communication opening 70 is closed by an atmosphere open/close valve 72 and a negative pressure is generated in a reservoir tank 52 by means of a decompression pump 62, ink in a main tank 34 is supplied to the reservoir tank 52. The ink supplied to the reservoir tank 52 is further supplied to a reservoir tank 54 thence supplied to a recording head 32. Consequently, a so-called print operation for supplying ink from the reservoir tank 54 to the recording head 32 while supplying ink from the main tank 34 to the reservoir tank 54 can be performed.
