<p>The invention relates to a cooling plant employed within the test stands for the study of operation characteristics of low-power Stirling engines. According to the invention, the plant consists of a thermostated enclosure having some plastic walls (), namely an external wall and an internal wall, where the space between the walls () is filled with a heat insulating layer () made of polyurethane foam, inside the enclosure there being placed a coil-shaped copper pipe () having a plurality of turns, which is cooled by several ice fragments () introduced into the enclosure through an orifice () provided with a heat-insulated cover (), the copper pipe () being provided at its top end with a fan () intended to absorb the atmospheric air having the ambient temperature which is subsequently circulated through the copper pipe () to the discharge orifice located at the bottom end, the said fan () being driven by a D.C. motor () supplied from an adjustable D.C. voltage source ().</p> |
