<p>The invention relates to a process for determining the life span of some workpieces which form an integral part of the equipments working under high dynamic stress and/or temperature conditions, such as those working in the chemical and petrochemical industries, the process being based on the evaluation of the level of plastic deformation by using the hardness testing. According to the invention, the process consists in determining, by means of some portable apparatuses, the hardness of some workpieces or components having been in operation for a certain number of hours, where on the basis of these hardness HV determined in the areas having the highest possibility of plastic deformation, there is possible to determine the area Afrom the relation established in the laboratory on the basis of tensile and hardness tests on as many test pieces as possible, for steel the relation being in the form : A= A (HV)+ B (HV)+ C(HV) + D wherein the coefficients A, B, C and D are experimentally determined on the basis of strains applied on the samples in the plastic deformation processes and finally said value of the plastic deformation is placed in the corresponding area of the characteristic curvature, determining the remainder of the life span for said component.</p> |
