<p>The device (8) has a control electronic circuit (12) for detecting switching data. A data transmission device (30) and a data interface are utilized for data detection and delivery by the electronic circuit. The data transmission device and a data transmission device in a control component are respectively formed as data sending and receiving modules that conform to powerline communication (PLC)technology. A sensor e.g. current sensor, voltage sensor and temperature sensor, is provided for detecting operating parameters, and a processing unit processes the parameters. The data transmission device in the control component is formed as a field bus gateway. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an electrical switching device.</p> |
