The boiler has a filling space (10) for accommodating solid fuels, and a grid (12) provided at a lower end (17) of the filling space for laying the solid fuels. A secondary chamber is connected with the filling space via an opening (14) and provided with a primary air supply. The grid comprises a hollow body (11), where primary air is guided into the filling space through the hollow body via outlet openings. The outlet openings are arranged over the hollow body in a uniform and distributed manner. The hollow body comprises a round or angular cross-section.
