Decorative panel and/or moulding, its use and process for its production

Decorative laminates especially suited for internal or external use in buildings have a pressed mono- or multi-layer core covered on one or both sides with a decorative layer and consisting of wood- or cellulose-fibers or sawdust impregnated with a heat-hardenable binder resin, there also being present in the core an (in)organic filler whose particle size is less than the thickness of the fibers or sawdust. An Independent claim is also included for production of the laminates involving the following steps prior to pre-pressing (i) mixing the filler with the fibers or sawdust or with the resin and then (ii) adding the resin or the fibers or sawdust. Alternatively, the filler is added to a mixture of the resin with the fibers or sawdust.
