PURPOSE: A cable connection monitoring apparatus and method of a generating plant facility cabinet are provided to rapidly and accurately confirm a cable connection state through a check program. CONSTITUTION: A cable connection monitoring apparatus(100) comprises a controller(110), an input unit(120), a communications unit(150), a connection state monitoring unit(170), and a storing unit(180). The storing unit stores cable connection information about an interface cabinet, a marshalling cabinet, and a control cabinet which is inputted in the input unit. The controller checks an error of the cable connection information between cabinets by simulating operation of the interface cabinet, the marshalling cabinet, and the control cabinet. The controller gives a start signal to the interface cabinet in case the cable connection information has no error. The communications unit respectively communicates with the interface cabinet, the marshalling cabinet, and the control cabinet. The connection state monitoring unit monitors cable connection state between the cabinets based on pin information inputted from the marshalling cabinet and the control cabinet.
