PURPOSE: A connector and a cellular phone using the connector are provided to securely connect a flexible printed circuit to a spring contact and prevent mis-location of a cover housing with respect to a socket housing. CONSTITUTION: A connector(1) is connected to a flexible printed circuit(2). The flexible printed circuit includes a flexible insulating part and a conductive line arranged inside the insulating part. The conductive line has a terminal(11) exposed from the front end of the insulating part. The connector includes an insulating socket housing(3) having a terminal inlet(30) into which the flexible printed circuit is inserted, and an insulating cover housing(4) arranged such that the cover housing opens/closes the socket housing. The socket housing has a lower plate(32) extended from the terminal inlet along the flexible printed circuit inserting direction and spring contacts(5) extended along the inner side of the lower plate. The cover housing includes an upper plate(4C) corresponding to the lower plate and the first and second guiding members(4A,4B) arranged at both ends of the upper plate. The cover housing is opened and the flexible printed circuit is inserted into the terminal inlet such that the terminal of the flexible printed circuit is located on the spring contacts. The cover housing is closed such that the first and second guiding members hold the flexible printed circuit to fit the circuit into the lower plate and, simultaneously, the terminal of the flexible printed circuit is pressed against the spring contacts.
