A vivarium 1 comprising an upper portion 11 with an aperture to facilitate access to the vivarium. The vivarium is provided with an optically clear side wall 2 defining a substantially circular circumference around the contents. In use the upper portion incorporates a fan (16, fig 2) for causing circulation of the air in said vivarium. The fan and side wall are positioned to cause the air to substantially flow in a spiral motion defined by said side wall. The vivarium is preferably spherical or tubular. Other features include a base 3, supporting tray 6 with drainage holes 7, humidifier 19, lights, air filter, lower water reservoir and capillary matting. |
