The base metal may be carbon steel, stainless steel or ferro-chromium alloy. The blade may be made, ground and honed, cleaned by glow discharge, chromium plated by vapor deposition or electroplating, re-sharpened, cleaned again with trichloroethylene, and a preferably aqueous dispersion of p.t.f.e. applied; the blade may then be dried and baked. The p.t.f.e. dispersion may contain a non-ionic wetting agent. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 906,005. |
