A contact lens mould arrangement 1 comprises a first, concave, mould-half 3 having a surface to correspond with a convex surface of the contact lens, a second, convex, mould-half 5 having a second convex mould surface to correspond with a concave surface of the contact lens, the first 3 or second 5 mould surface being defined by an annular ridge 13, the engagement between the mould halves 3, 5 in use being unconstrained and at least one mould half is sufficiently pliable such that during the curing of a lens forming composition 17 the first and/or second mould halves move relative to one another and/or flex such as to define between the first and second mould surfaces a post-cure mould cavity which defines a smaller volume than the pre-cure mould cavity. One mould half may be utilized as a blister cup for contact lens packaging. |
