PURPOSE: A method of monitoring a touch cutting machine in a continuous casting line is provided so that work start alarm is emitted until a clamp is mounted on the surface of a slab and the edge of the slab is detected and work finish alarm is emitted until the cutting of the slab is finished and the clamp is lift. CONSTITUTION: A method of monitoring a touch cutting machine in a continuous casting line comprises next steps. If a slab cutting command is input, a clamp is mounted on the surface of the slab(S2). If the clamp is mounted on the surface of the slab, work start alarm is emitted for a given time(S4). If the cutting of the slab is finished, work finish alarm is emitted for a given time(S8). The work start alarm is emitted until the clamp is mounted on the surface of the slab and the edge of the slab is detected. The work finish alarm is emitted until the cutting of the slab is finished and the clamp is lift.
