<p>The invention relates to an insert (1) that can be inserted into a rechargeable battery part (2) of an electric power tool, in particular a hand-held tool comprising at least one handle for holding the tool. Said insert (1) comprises multiple battery cells (3) which are interconnected in an electrically conducting manner. According to the invention, the insert (1) has a housing (4) which can be opened and into which the battery cells (3) are inserted, wherein the battery cells (3) are interconnected in an electrically conducting manner by means of conductor webs (5) that are mounted inside the housing (4). The invention further relates to a battery cell (3) comprising a base (22) that has a salient pole (23) and edges (24), and an exterior insulation (25) that encloses the edges (24). A non-conducting element (26) is disposed on the pole, between the base (22) and the insulation (25), such that the pole (23) is recessed relative to a level (27) of the element (26) that is held in place by the insulation (5).
