PURPOSE: An external device control method of an image display device and the image display device using the same are provided to control operation of the external device using the image display device. CONSTITUTION: A controller displays a controllable external device list on a display part of an image display device according to an execution command of a control program(S710). A user selects a single external device among displayed external devices(S720). The controller displays a control window for controlling the selected external device on the display part(S730). The controller transmits an inputted control command to the selected external device(S750).
