PURPOSE: An apparatus for temperature compensation having a variable attenuator and a method for temperature compensation using the same are provided to change variable attenuation values according to temperature variation by pre arranging a characteristic table which makes the variable attenuation values of a variable attenuator into data. CONSTITUTION: A receiving unit(10) receives a current output level of an amplifier(300) and a temperature value measured in a temperature sensor(400). A comparison and updating unit(50) compares a current output level received from the receiving unit with a target output level preset in the amplifier. A variable attenuation value is saved in a characteristic table storage(30). A control voltage generator(20) generates a variable attenuation control voltage according to the variable attenuation value corresponding to a current temperature value in the characteristic table storage.
