The method involves controlling residual voltage at terminals (20) of a component after interruption of application of power supply voltage with a power supply level, to the terminals. An auxiliary voltage higher/equal to minimum voltage e.g. retention voltage, and lower than the level, is applied to the terminals when the residual voltage is lower than a threshold higher than the minimum voltage. The application of the auxiliary voltage is interrupted (23). Controlling, applying and interrupting steps are repeated (24) until recovery of application of the supply voltage to the terminals. An independent claim is also included for a system comprising a power supply source.
