The device (1) has a flexible planar structure mounted to be moved between a storage position in a compact manner, and a masking position for masking an interior space of a vehicle, where the device is arranged above a cellar foot (2) in front of a passenger seat (3) of the vehicle. A textile screen (5) is wound in the storage position, and the screen is extendable to a deployed position to completely cover the cellar foot.
