Disclosed is the use of a boron containing compound for the manufacture of a composition for preventing or treating osteochondrosis in a mammal (and specifically where the mammal is selected from a human, pigs, horses, mules, donkeys, cattle, sheep, goats, llamas, dogs, and cats), wherein the boron containing compound is selected from organic boron containing compounds, inorganic boron containing compounds, boron containing minerals, plant material with elevated boron levels and microorganisms with elevated boron levels (such as yeast). |
