A microwaveable food tray comprising three compartments; the first compartment having a film cover including a valve; the second compartment having at least one microwave shield that protects the top, bottom and sides of the compartment; and a third compartment containing a microwave susceptor or modifier made from metallic foil or film and contain a plurality of slits. The second and third compartments have individual film covers as well. The tray is made from one of paper, paper board, plastics, polymers, polypropylene, polyethylene, crystalline polyethylene terephthalate and combinations thereof with a thickness of 0.25 to 2 mm. The microwave shield is made from one of metal, aluminium, paper, cardboard and combinations thereof. The film cover is made from one of polymers, polypropylenes, plastics, polyesters and combinations thereof. The three compartments can separated via weakening zones. |
