PURPOSE: A composition for preventing post-harvest disease of citrus or sweet potatoes is provided to ensure antifungal activity against Penicillin digitatum and/or Penicillin italicum. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing post-harvest disease of citrus or sweet potatoes contains Pittosporum tobira Ait. fruit fraction, fraction thereof, or saponin IIIA3 as an active ingredient, isolated from Pittosporum tobira Ait. fruit as an active ingredient. The Pittosporum tobira Ait. fruit extract is prepared by dipping Pittosporum tobira Ait. fruits in a mixture solvent of water and ethanol. The composition additionally contains agrochemically acceptable carrier, wetting agent, dispersion agent, anti-freezing agent, thickening agent, preservative, or adjuvant.
