<p>PURPOSE: A multiple flute reamer and a cutting insert for the flute reamer are provided to expand rear side of a chip discharging flute in order to control formation chips in the multiple flute reamer. CONSTITUTION: A multiple flute reamer(10) comprises a cutting portion(12) and a cutting insert(26). The cutting part comprises a front end portion(16), a rear end(18), a peripheral surface(24), a chip flute(28). The chip flute is extended from a front end towards rear side. The cutting insert is installed in the cutting part. The chip breaker is extended over an entire length of an upside(30) of the upper side of the cutting insert. The chip breaker is extended to central longitudinal axis of the cutting part.</p> |
