An operation control method of a refrigerator is provided to reduce power consumption due to operation of a defrosting heater by defrosting an evaporator without the defrosting heater even if control temperature of a storage compartment is set at a low temperature. An operation control method of a refrigerator comprises a step(S12) of setting low and high set temperatures which are the control temperatures of a storage compartment, a step of cooling-operating the control temperature of the storage compartment at a low set temperature, a step(S17) of changing the control temperature of the storage compartment into a high set temperature after passing the first operating time if the low set temperature is below the set standard temperature, and a step of operating a blowing fan and operating a defrosting mode of defrosting the evaporator. The operating step at high set temperature is operated for the second operating time.
