Fused pyridine, pyrimidine and triazine compounds as cell cycle inhibitors

Disclosed herein are fused pyridine, pyrimidine compounds of formula I or II, wherein the substituents are as defined within the specification, processes for its preparation, compositions comprising said compounds and uses thereof. Said compounds are useful as selective inhibitors of cyclin dependent kinase Cdk4, wherein CdK6 is also structurally and functional similar to Cdk4 and there is useful for treating cancer and for reducing tumour size in a subject.
