摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing complications associated with a hemodialysis therapy in a human patient having a risk of the complications in a vascular access site. <P>SOLUTION: As for use of a barrier-forming material including poly-&beta;-1&rarr;4-N-acetylglucosamine in the production of a pharmaceutical preparation to be administered to the patient to reduce the complications associated with the hemodialysis therapy in the human patient having the risk of the complications in the vascular access site, the administration pattern of the pharmaceutical preparation includes (a) the topical administration of the pharmaceutical preparation to a skin in a site of the patient where a hemodialysis needle is removed within a period of the hemodialysis therapy, and (b) compression to the site where the hemodialysis needle is removed or a close site thereto for the period of 1-14 minutes, wherein the vascular access site comprises a vein sutured to an artery, a native arteriovenous fistula, or a synthetic vascular graft. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
