<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device which has a first processing unit and a second processing unit connected to an attachable/detachable external memory and can detect defects in the external memory to notify a user of the defects. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing device 2 in a printer device 1 comprises a main CPU 5, a sub CPU 6 and a memory slot 10 to/from which an external memory 11 can be attached/detached. The memory slot 10 has a terminal 10b accessible to a SPD area 11b in the external memory 11, and the terminal 10b is connected to the main CPU 5. Also, the main CPU 5 is configured to perform an error check in the external memory 11 by accessing to the SPD area 11b via the terminal 10b, before the sub CPU 6 starts up. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
