<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a pigment dispersion element for color filter that can form a hardened film with excellent developability, substrate adhesion and contrast, and a colored composition for color filter containing a pigment dispersion element obtained by the same method. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided a method of manufacturing a pigment dispersion element for color filter having the steps (1) and (2), and a colored composition for color filter containing a pigment dispersion element obtained by the same method. In the step (1), an organic pigment, a graft polymer (A) containing a nitrogen atom, and an ester-based organic solvent are dispersed to obtain a pigment dispersion liquid.
