<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high purity LaB<SB POS="POST">6</SB>porous particles having a dendrite inhibiting effect when used as a negative electrode active material of a secondary battery, a method for producing the same, and a secondary battery negative electrode material using the LaB<SB POS="POST">6</SB>porous particles. <P>SOLUTION: The lanthanum hexaboride porous particles comprise a plurality of lanthanum hexaboride primary particles whose particle diameter is 10 nm to 10 μm, wherein a content of impurities comprising at least one element selected from among La, C, O and B is ≤0.1 mass% (expressed in terms of carbon) and ≤1.0 mass% (expressed in terms of oxygen). The lanthanum hexaboride porous particles contain pores whose pore diameter is 1 nm to 10 μm and have a specific surface area of 0.4-100 m<SP POS="POST">2</SP>/g. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
