METHOD FOR PRODUCING FIBER FILTER MEDIUM, AND FIBER FILTER MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fiber filter medium, by which the fray of a fiber can be prevented and further which can attain higher water flowing speed and improvement of an SS (suspended substance) removing rate, and to provide the fiber filter medium.

SOLUTION: The method for producing the fiber filter medium 10 the both end parts 9 of which are welded, includes: a cotton blending step S1 for blending cotton with short fiber 1 consisting of a thermoplastic fiber to obtain a cotton blended body; a carding step S2 for turning the cotton blended body to a thin sheet-like web 5 with its fiber direction aligned; a rope-like fiber body producing step S3 for turning the web 5 to a rope-like fiber body 6; and a cutting step S5 for weld-cutting the rope-like fiber body 6 to obtain a flat rectangular shape.
