The device has a housing (1) formed of an extruded section. A piston (5) is mounted between a cover element (2) and a cylinder cover (6). A piston rod (4) is actively connected with a clamping arm (8) via a control mechanism (7). The arm is rotatably mounted at a head piece (3). A guide roll (9) is arranged at a control mechanism sided end of the piston rod. A guide is formed of guide elements (10, 11) arranged in the head piece and the housing, respectively. One of the guide elements is connected with the cylinder cover. The cylinder cover and the guide element are made of plastic.
