<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that has a separation guide plate that keeps a constant gap relative to a fixing member, irrespective of the deformation of the fixing member or the accuracy of assembly, as well as an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A fixing device includes: a separation guide plate 43 that is provided at a position on downstream side in a running direction of a fixing member 20 relative to a nip portion so as to face the fixing member 20; and an endless abutment member 44 that abuts with an outer peripheral surface of the fixing member 20 at an end portion in a width direction of a tip 43a of the separation guide plate 43 that extends in a width direction thereof so as to form a gap G relative to the fixing member 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
