<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent outputs of a print result undesired by a user caused when different hues of sheets are registered as the same color name. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: reading means for reading a hue of a sheet; retrieval means for retrieving hue data corresponding to the hue read by the reading means in a color sample data base; control means for automatically registering the hue data retrieved by the retrieval means and a color name corresponding to the retrieved hue data in a paper brand data base, and presenting a user the color name corresponding to the retrieved hue data; and setting means for, corresponding to the selection by the user of the color name presented by the control means from color names registered in the paper brand data base, setting a sheet corresponding to the color name selected by the user on a paper feed stage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
