<p>A motion vector detection device comprises a motion estimation unit which detects a motion vector (MV0) on a block unit basis and a motion vector enhancement unit (130). The motion vector enhancement unit (130) further comprises a first motion vector generation unit (1341), a second motion vector generation unit (1342 - 134N) and motion vector correction units (1371 - 137N). The first motion vector generation unit (1341) generates sub-blocks of a first layer with each block as a generation source, and generates a motion vector (MV1) of each sub-block of the first layer. For each layer of a second layer through a layer N, the second motion vector generation unit (1342 - 134N) generates a motion vector (MVk, where k = 2 - N) of each sub-block of each respective layer. The motion vector correction units (1371 - 137N) correct the motion vectors of sub-blocks of layers among the first layer through the layer N which are subject to correction.</p> |
