BACKLIGHT UNIT AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A backlight unit and a liquid crystal display device using the same are provided to obtain a good viewing angle and maintaining image quality even though prism sheets and diffusion sheets are not arranged on a light guide plate. CONSTITUTION: A light guide object(23) converts light into planar light. The light guide object emits the converted planar light upward. A light diffusing and concentrating sheet is arranged on a lower surface of the light guide object. The light diffusing and concentrating sheet diffuses and concentrates light which is totally reflected onto an upper surface of the light guide object. The light diffusing and concentrating sheet supplies the light onto an upper part of the light guide object.
