ROTARY ELECTRIC MACHINE CONTROL DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control technique such that after a connection between a DC power source and a capacitor is broken, electric charges remaining in the capacitor is discharged promptly to make a voltage between terminals of the capacitor a proper voltage or lower.

SOLUTION: A rotary electric machine control device 1 includes a discharge control section 11 and an upper stage control section 13. The discharge control section 11 performs discharge control to supply the rotary electric machine 5 with a field current that does not affect the torque of a rotary electric machine 5 via an inverter 4 using charge power that is charged in a capacitor 7 connected at least between both positive and negative electrodes at an inverter 4 side of a converter 3 when a main switch 8 that connects a rotary electric machine drive device 2 including the converter 3 and the inverter 4 with a DC power supply 20 is cut off. The upper stage control section 13 allows an upper stage switching element 31 of the series circuit of the upper stage switching element 31 and lower stage switching element 33 connected between both positive and negative electrodes at the inverter 4 side of the converter 3 to be an on-state until discharge control is terminated.
