<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve contrast of an image display. <P>SOLUTION: An image display comprises a light emitting device for emitting light at brightness in accordance with a current amount; a storage capacity; a driving transistor that supplies a correction potential to one end of the storage capacity by allowing a current to flow through a drain electrode and a gate electrode thereof in a threshold voltage generation period and controls a current amount in accordance with a potential difference that is supplied by the storage capacity in a light emission period and corresponds to a potential difference caused between the gate electrode and a source electrode thereof in accordance with gradation data and the correction potential; a lighting control switch connected to the drain electrode of the driving transistor serially with the light emitting device for ensuring a path of a current flowing through the light emitting device in the light emission period; and a drain charge discharging switch for supplying the drain electrode of the driving transistor with a discharge potential for discharging charge of the drain electrode in a drain charge discharge period between the threshold voltage generation period and the light emission period. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
