The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus (100) of an embodiment is provided with a first imaging unit (22), a specifying unit (22) and a second imaging unit (22). By the first imaging unit (22) continuously imaging the image pickup region, which contains the cardiac muscle, for each k-space segment during a prescribed period following application of a labeling RF pulse on blood flowing into the subject's cardiac muscle, multiple MR data of differing times from labeling until data collection are collected without enhancement. The specifying unit (22) specifies the time elapsed until the labeled blood reached a prescribed position in the image pickup region on the basis of the multiple MR data collected. The second imaging unit (22) sets the specified time into the applicable parameters of the pulse sequence and by imaging the image pickup region containing the cardiac muscle after applying a labeling RF pulse on blood flowing into the subject's cardiac muscle, collects MR data without enhancement. |
