PURPOSE: A foreign language translation method and apparatus thereof, and mobile device using the same are provided to translate a foreign language word according to a user gesture and to disappear a translated word from a display unit. CONSTITUTION: A display unit(110) displays a foreign language content. A sensor(120) senses a gesture. A translating unit(130) translates a foreign language word according to the sensed gesture. A controller displays a translation result on the display unit and removes the translation result from the display unit. If the gesture is a first gesture, the translating unit performs translation. If the gesture is a second gesture, the translation result is removed from the display unit.
