The present invention relates broadly to a method of constructing a renewable energy plant such as a solar farm or wind farm. The renewable energy plant is in the form of a solar farm having a plurality of solar panels such as photovoltaic (PV) panels. The invention according 5 to its broadest aspect has the following characteristics: 1. A renewable energy plant such as a solar farm is notionally divided into a plurality of investment unit operations each capable of generating energy; 2. One or more of the investment unit operations are sold to or purchased by investors to at least partly fund the renewable energy plant; 10 3. The investors are provided with investment returns via: i. Income derived from energy generated by the investors in investment unit operations such as their PV panels; ii. A tax rebate available to the investor via their purchase of the investment unit operation such as the PV panel. |
